WORKSHOPS
January 2025 Applications are open!
WHAT IS IT?
A unique workshop series, lasting six weeks.
Holding space for thoughtful women to come together, connect, and build authentic relationships.
Cultivating deep, inner work & reflection.
Exploring the purposes and concerns, the struggles and surprises, the potential and joys of aging.
Studying The Gift of Years by Author Joan Chittester.
WHY JOIN?
One of my therapeutic passions is exploring the liminal space of middle/late adulthood with thoughtful women. Liminal space represents the seasons of life when we've exited one part of what we knew, and entered into a space of not-knowing. We feel a sense of formlessness, often accompanied by grief and loss. There is uncertainty about what lies ahead.
Maybe you've spent most of your life caring for others...maybe your days were consumed by mothering, and you feel an emptiness inside of yourself...maybe a demanding career has ended and you're feeling a loss of self worth...maybe you thought your marriage would last forever and it didn't...maybe you're confronting changes to your face and body...maybe you're experiencing health challenges...maybe you've lost your parents...maybe you're estranged from a child...maybe it feels like the world has stopped seeing you...
Whatever your liminal space looks like, you shouldn't have to navigate it alone. It's a sacred chapter, not the end of your story. This group will act as a cocoon for you as we explore the trials and potential of liminality.
WHO SHOULD JOIN?
If you are a woman (and any of the following applies):
Entering and living your second half of life,
Confronting life's complexity,
Navigating numerous relationships with various titles, lengths, roles & depths,
Carrying hurt or loss,
Shifting, changing, and learning over the course of time,
Feeling fresh to this season, or a bit formless, or fearful about the future,
Interested in growing more into yourself,
Unafraid of differences,
Open to new friendships and experiences,
and not about the bullsh*t...
this is the group for you.
IS IT A CLOSED OR OPEN GROUP?
This workshop will be a closed gathering, meaning that once registration slots fill we will not open it to new members for the series. This is a very small workshop, designed to provide a uniquely personal experience. Be sure to apply as soon as registration opens to secure a spot.
WHAT WILL WE DO?
Rachel will offer teaching & psychoeducation on adult life development, facilitate connective conversations, guide the group through a weekly book study, assign reading and journal prompts, and encourage the sharing and application of your personal stories and reflections.
Think about it like this: a great ladies group + a bookclub + a therapist + collective wisdom + deep inner work + new friends! Basically, a really REALLY GOOD TIME.
This workshop will also extend into your week: it involves much more than the 90 minutes we will spend together weekly. You'll want to make sure you can dedicate a few hours each week to personal reading, journaling and reflection.
WHERE?
Our group will be hosted online via Zoom. Please make sure you will have a stable internet connection & quiet space with minimal-to-no background noise .
WHEN?
Gatherings are on Monday and Friday. There are four group times to choose from on your application.
Monday 10:30-12pm PST
Monday 1-2:30pm PST
Friday 10:30-12pm PST
Friday 1-2:30pm PST
Our first gathering will begin the week of January 20th and will end the week of Feb 24th 2025
**Please note that the time you select will remain the time you meet for the six weeks (groups are not interchangeable).**
PRICING AND PAYMENT?
Price is $850 for the 6 week series and includes all reading/journaling materials, which will be delivered to you at your desired location prior to our workshop beginning. A deposit of $300 is required to secure your spot at time of application. Full Payment is due by Jan 1st and is non-refundable.
WHAT IF I MISS A MEETING?
Life happens, and missing a single meeting in our six week series won't spoil your whole experience. However, if you anticipate missing multiple meetings you may want to wait for a future event to sign up. Consistency and participation are essential to a quality experience for you and others.
IS THIS GROUP THERAPY?
This is a workshop series, and not group therapy. Rachel will be participating as an educational facilitator and as such these relationships will not constitute that of a therapist to a client. The group will be strongly encouraged to uphold the privacy and confidentiality of other members. This is intended to be a contained, intimate space for other women to open up about their lives and connect on a meaningful level. If you don't feel confident in your ability to safeguard the stories of others, this group might not be the right fit for you.
